After clearing the immigrations and collecting your bags, you will need to come out and look for the sign Icefall Adventures. Our representative will greet you and take you to the hotel. In the evening, we will take you to a traditional Nepali restaurant for welcome dinner.
You will spend the second day sightseeing around Kathmandu - there’s the monkey temple, the Boudhanath Stupa and some ancient heritages of Nepal to be visited. In the later half of the afternoon our guides will brief you and help you sort out all the equipment for the trip.
The drive to Syabru Bensi has been described by a lot of travellers as ‘crazy’ while some have described it as ‘scenic’. Although the distance between Kathmandu and Syabru Bensi is only 117 kilometers, it takes 7-8 hours to complete the journey across the winding and uneven Himalayan road leading to Syabru. Be ready for some huge bumps in the roads, some really sharp turns and landslides if you’re traveling during monsoon!
The trail first passes a suspension bridge over the Bhote Koshi to the village of old Syabru Bensi after which, it leads you out of the village as you cross the Langtang khola and pass several forests before reaching Lama Hotel.
After a hearty breakfast in Lama Hotel follow a trail alongside the Langtang River and climb up almost 700 meters before stopping for lunch in Ghora Tabela. After lunch, hike further up to Langtang, a remote and beautiful village that is still following some age old customs and traditions.
An extra day means you can take a leisurely walk around the Langtang village and observe the local lifestyle and culture.
The hike between the Langtang village and Kyanjin Gompa is short and fairly strenuous. Walking past meadows and grazing Yaks, you’ll find the hike quite pleasant as you reach Kyanjin Gompa after only four hours of walking.
Kyanjin Ri at 4773 m looms over Kyanjin Gompa and your tea house. An early ascent of its summit makes sure you see an extraordinary sunrise view, where the sun seems to rise from behind the mountains.
From Kyanjin Gompa you’ll retrace your steps back to Lama Hotel via Langtang village. The descent is long and this can be quite tiresome and hard on the knees.
The trail first drops down some 700 meters and then its a 500 meter climb to the village of Thulo Syabru, passing through a heavily forested surrounding. Look out for red pandas, mountain goats and a variety of birds
Another usual trekking day; first ascend, pass more forests of pine and rhododendron and descend after a certain point.
The journey between Dhunche and Kathmandu is about 6 hours long and if we start early you’ll be in Kathmandu by mid day. You can spend the rest of the day strolling around the eateries and souvenir shops of Thamel.
An extra day in Kathmandu for shopping or sightseeing if you are interested in visiting some places. In the evening, we will take you for farewell dinner at Rum Doodle restaurant. This is an unique restaurant in Kathmandu where they have signatures of all everest summiteers on yeti foot.
Again our representatives will be there to transfer you to the airport and bid you farewell.
